How to hit a good tennis Forehand?

Hitting a good tennis forehand is essential for any tennis player, whether you are a beginner or an experienced player. Here are the steps to hitting a good tennis forehand:

  1. Grip: Start by holding the tennis racket with a comfortable grip. The most common grip for forehand is the Semi-western grip.

  2. Ready position: Get into a ready position by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent. Hold the racket in front of you with both hands, with the racket head pointing towards the net. An early preparation would be essential to hitting a good forehand.

  3. Backswing: Take the racket back by rotating your shoulders and turning your non-dominant side towards the net. As you do this, bring the racket back with your non-dominant hand and bring your dominant hand behind your shoulder.

  4. Contact point: As the ball approach and bounces, swing the racket forward and make contact with the ball slightly in front of your body. Your arm should be slightly bent/fully extended, and the racket head should be pointing towards the net. Aim to make contact with the ball at waist height or slightly higher.

  5. Follow-through: Follow through with your swing by continuing the racket head forward and across your body to your shoulder.

Tips for a good forehand:

  • Keep your eyes on the ball throughout the entire stroke.

  • Rotate your hips and shoulders to generate more power in your shot.

  • Use your non-dominant hand to help guide the racket back.

  • Practice footwork and positioning to ensure you are in the right position to hit the ball.

Remember that hitting a good forehand takes practice and patience. Work on developing proper technique and consistency, and soon you will be hitting powerful and accurate forehands on the court.
